Speed formula /"Spoed formule" was written to assist lawyers with the initial estimate for speed from straight braking/skidmarks. It is very important to note that this program only gives an estimate, and only on the tyre marks on a specific road surface. This will assist the legal professional in determining whether it will be cost effective to get the services of a accident reconstruction expert.
( WARNING.The estimate alone will not be sufficient for court purposes)

Procedure:

Download the ZIP file and follow the instructions in WINZIP. If setup does not run automatically run SETUP from the directory where the unzipped files are. Speed Formula will be installed in your startup tray and must be run from there. It will not influence the performance of your computer due to the small file size. If you choose not to have it in your startup tray you must run the executable from the installation directory. The butterfly icon will appear in the tray and the program can be run from the tray.

Running the program

• Click on the icon in the tray
• Click the appropriate radio button
• Enter the length of the brake/skidmarks in metres
• Click calculate
